Cartuxa is part of the Foundation of Eugénio de Almeida, which is involved in a variety of agricultural activity including olive oil and wine production. There are over 400 hectares of olive groves in this estate in northern Alentejo and their commitment is to maintaining a balance between natural resources and modern production methods.
Cartuxa extra virgin is a premium olive oil, produced mainly from a blend of green olives (Picual, Arbequina and Cobrançosa) which shows fresh, fruity aromas of green tomatoes and almonds, with a subtle touch of green leaves and mixed herbs. Only olives harvested directly from the trees are used and their juice is obtained in a mill equipped with state-of-the-art technology and strict quality control, maintaining all the characteristics of the region.
